What a household is — and is not
A household decides who receives the invoice, and the order for sibling discounts. Siblings in the same household get one invoice to the payer, with one KID.
The household gives no access to the members' details. Who sees a child's calendar, messages and charges is still decided by the guardian link.
Create a household
Go to ‘Finances’ → ‘Households’ and choose ‘New household’.
- Fill in ‘Household name’, for example ‘The Hansen family’.
- Fill in ‘Payer’ and ‘Email’ — the invoice is sent here. Phone and address are optional.
- Add the members who belong to the household.
- Choose ‘Create household’.
- When an application is approved, you can put the child straight into a household or create ‘The … family’ in the same dialogue.
Suggested households
Sportio suggests members without a household who appear to belong together — ‘Same guardian account’ or ‘Same guardian email’. Nothing is created until you choose ‘Create household’ and review it.
How the sibling discount works
The rules are entered on the ‘Discounts’ card under ‘Finances’ → ‘Settings’. You set a percentage per child number — for example 2nd child −25 % and 3rd child −50 %.
The eldest child in the household always pays the full price. Children after the last rule get the same percentage as the last one.
‘Cap per household (NOK)’ is the most a household pays per fee, after discounts. Leave the field empty for no limit.
Under ‘Applies to’ you choose which types of fee the rules cover — membership fee, training fee and/or other fee. A fee only uses the rules if ‘Use discount rules’ is on.
At least NOK 50 in membership fee
NIF requires the membership fee to be at least NOK 50 per member. Sportio never lets a sibling discount, late registration or a cap per household take a membership fee below NOK 50 — the discount stops there.
A family membership is only a discount. Each child is a member in their own right, with their own charge, even if the household gets one combined invoice.

Late registration and sibling discounts together
If the club has rules for late registration (the ‘Late registration’ field on the ‘Discounts’ card, for example ‘from 01.07: −50 %’), they are applied first. The sibling discount is then calculated on the remaining amount.
Late registration applies only to annual fees, and only to members who joined in the same season year.
Versions of the rules
Every change is saved as a new version with ‘New version’. The card shows the ‘Current version’ and the history, and in the ‘Note’ field you can write where the rules were adopted, for example ‘Adopted at the 2026 annual general meeting’.
Every charge remembers which version it was priced by. On the invoice the payer sees the ordinary price and the discount, for example ‘Søskenmoderasjon (2. i husstanden): −25 %’ (sibling discount, 2nd in the household).
