Status: awaiting an agreement with NIF
The connection to the membership register of the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) is built into Sportio, but NIF has not yet opened membership data to Sportio. The buttons are therefore disabled, and ‘System status’ shows ‘Awaiting agreement’.
The card is under ‘Settings’ → ‘Integrations’ → ‘NIF member register’.
Login with Idrettens ID has not been built yet.
What the synchronisation will do
You enter ‘The club's organisation number in NIF’ and first select ‘Test sync (dry run)’. The dry run shows what would change — new members, updates and possible duplicates — without saving anything.
When you are satisfied, you select ‘Synchronise’. The changes are then saved. If you run it again, everything stays ‘Unchanged’ — nothing is duplicated.
Every run is listed under ‘Recent runs’, with details per person and field.
Possible duplicates are never merged automatically
If a person from NIF has the same name and date of birth, or the same email and date of birth, as a member of the club, it becomes a ‘Possible duplicate’. You see the people side by side and choose ‘Connect’, ‘Create new’ or ‘Ignore’.
A person who exists in the club but not in NIF is marked ‘Not found in NIF’. The member is never deleted. An empty field in NIF never overwrites what the club has recorded.
New members from NIF are created as not public, so they are not shown on the website until you have consent.
- To run a test you need access to personal data for the whole club. To synchronise you need write access to personal data for the whole club.
What the club should do in the meantime
Keep collecting the membership fee through the club's NIF-approved membership system. Under NIF's decision of 11 November 2025 the membership fee must go through an approved system; training fees and other fees can already be collected in Sportio.
Keep the membership register tidy: full name and date of birth for everyone. That leaves fewer possible duplicates to go through when the connection opens.
