Vipps and cards

Payment by Vipps and card is coming. Here is what the club needs, and what guardians will see.

For clubsComingLast updated
This feature is not live yet. The guide describes what is coming, so you can prepare.

Status: coming

Payment by Vipps and card is built into Sportio, but it is not live yet. It is waiting for Sportio's agreement with Vipps MobilePay. Until then everyone pays in their online bank with KID (the Norwegian payment reference), which works fully today.

The club does not need to do anything now. We will let you know when Vipps is ready.

What the club needs

The club needs its own business agreement with Vipps MobilePay. The agreement gives a merchant number (brukerstedsnummer, or Merchant Serial Number, MSN) of 4–10 digits.

The money goes straight to the club's own Vipps agreement and on to the club's account. Sportio never handles the club's money. Fees and payout schedule follow the club's agreement with Vipps — ask Vipps about the prices.

How to connect

You can enter the merchant number now. It will be used as soon as Sportio's Vipps agreement is in place.

  1. Go to ‘Finances’ → ‘Settings’, the ‘Payment solutions’ card.
  2. Fill in ‘Vipps merchant number (MSN)’.
  3. Select ‘Connect’.
  4. The card shows ‘Waiting for Sportio's Vipps agreement’ until the agreement is ready, and then ‘Connected’.
Tips
  • The status next to each payment solution tells you how far it has come — for example ‘Simulated — not tested against the provider’ or ‘Ready for live use’.

What guardians will see

On the invoice under ‘Payment’ the button ‘Pay with Vipps’ will appear, and ‘Pay by card’ where card is available. The payer is sent to Vipps, approves, and comes back to a page that checks the payment and shows ‘Payment recorded’.

The account number and KID are still there, behind ‘Pay in online banking instead (KID)’, for those who would rather pay in their online bank.

The invoice email gets a ‘Pay now’ button when the payer has a user account in the club.

Payouts and reconciliation

Money paid with Vipps shows as ‘In transit’ under ‘Reconciliation’ until it has been paid out to the club's account. Refunds go back to the payer's Vipps or card.
